I did a rerun of All Songs Considered from October last year when Bob Boilen had Jens Lekman in the studio and I just had to listen again to ‘A postcard to Nina’ when waking up today. Pretty funny story (although I doubt its authenticity…have heard Nina’s moving to New York and San Fran in different live recordings). Nevertheless, amusing…

Not only do I love ‘Golden Cage’ by The Whitest Boy Alive (Not to mention the Fred Falke remix), but their video has a highly entertaining animated typographic story and optical illusions intertwined. Take a four minute break and kick back to Erlend Oye’s wonderful voice.

Have been playing a good amount of Dengue Fever lately after hearing them on both NPR Music: All Songs Considered and Rob da Bank on BBC Radio 1. I just love the 70’s sound of ‘Tiger Phone Card’. Although the live version is good, it’s nothing like getting old skool hippie music in a good recording.
